Govt’s Mopa projections

The Goa Government in its haste to push through with the Mopa Airport Project put in a highly debatable figure of 14 million by 2044, as per the figures given in the EIA. And Dabolim airport shows a capacity of 9 million, which can handle traffic until 2030. With the latter figures, first of all it is obvious that we do not need another airport as we are struggling to reach even half capacity of Dabolim’s potential.
Secondly, now with the latest 2014 figures showing significant drop in tourists to Goa, will the Government revise its highly inflated figures detailed in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report?  By which if done correctly will mean that Goa does not actually need another un-necessary airport at Mopa.
