Wearing of helmets in Goa for both riders and pillion riders on all roads is not the solution to the problem of road fatalities. All those responsible for the planning and development of roads have failed in all aspects, to the point that the roads are not maintained properly.
Traffic police are not interested in the task they are required to do and are doing the job of traffic lights. Bad roads, haphazard speed breakers plus helmets wearing have resulted in orthopaedic problems like spondolysis and back injuries. Isn’t the government liable to compensate us for these injury sustained by us on a day to day basis because it is callous? It is time to focus on attending to problems seriously and stop fooling the public for a few days of drama!
