I would like to bring to the notice of the concerned, that the present Government is doing injustice to our very own mother tongue Konkani by refusing advertisement for the magazines of few thousand rupees saying Government coffers are empty but releasing advertisements worth lakhs of rupees to other publications including Marathi newspaper. This is a great injustice. The newspapers, magazines published monthly or weekly, and without advertisements cannot survive. The advertisements are the soul and heart of a newspaper/magazines. I request the Government to release atleast once in a month to Konkani periodicals a few thousand rupees advertisement and do justice to mother tongue Konkani especially published in Roman script. Goans scattered all over the world read these magazines and get informed with all the happenings in their motherland Goa. So don’t be so ungrateful to your own mother.
