Social media rules our world
It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Social Media rules our world. Its significance can never be underestimated. Social Media can link countless users at any time, everywhere. Information could be spread globally and its connectivity makes it simple for people to interact with one another. This results in global relationships. Hence when the Social Media is down it gets every user worried. Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger, which are platforms managed by Meta, were down for over an hour on Tuesday evening for thousands of users in India and several other countries.
The global Facebook and Instagram outage that left potentially millions unable to access their accounts was caused by an unspecified “technical issue”, Meta has said. Users found they were mysteriously logged out and not able to log back in, or could not open the app at all. Users were unable to load apps, deliver messages and refresh their search feeds on Facebook and Instagram. The outages were reportedly experienced in several other countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Brazil. It may be recalled that on October 4 in 2021, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were down for hours, as a result of faulty changes on routers. Facebook is the world’s largest social media platform, with three billion active monthly users. Instagram has about 1.35 users, according to the latest data.

Another step by the Supreme Court to clean India
The Supreme Court ends immunity power for lawmakers taking bribes to vote. It is a great judgment by the SC. The politicians had turned parliamentary system into an unpredictable joke. It was shocking to see that leaders claiming immunity from prosecution in cases of bribery for votes or speeches in the House. Money, bribes, coercion, blackmail and horse trading was deciding election results, not people’s choice.
One more thing that need attention is leaders claiming false credit and making false claims.
Immunity can lead individuals to take advantage of entrusted power for personal gain. Bribe by the political leaders are increasingly used to corrupt political process. There is clear evidence that high-level political corruption is leading to growing disillusionment with the democratic process.
This is because leaders desire to make a lot of money without putting in a lot of effort. And this judgment will ensure clean politics and deepen people’s faith in the system. If Jinnah, who worked with the British to split India, says so, it clearly demonstrates the deep-rooted institutional corruption in British India, which the British authority firmly supports and practises to suit their selfish aims.

Women are the bedrock of a nation
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year to renew the pledge and to achieve the goal of gender equality for women by nations all over the world.
This day needs to be remembered every time until things improve for women globally. Women are the backbone of the family and the bedrock of a nation. They bring life into the world. They sense the cries of an infant. Their instincts are to care for the old, the sick and those in need, that is why we celebrate Women’s Day on March 8.

Every aspect of human use can become so sublime and thus maximum credit can be given to those who have developed AI which should be used for the greatest good of mankind. There are already signs of AI being used with great effect.. Regulations to prevent misuse should be stringent and put in place so that AI is not abused and used for detrimental purposes. Artificial Intelligence could herald the beginning of a new golden millennium that can lead to perfection in all aspects of human endeavor. Toward such a destination every effort should be made. AI should become the greatest tool of modern scientific innovation.

Curb exit polls, let voters decide
Poll charchas, debates, talks and along with these spicy mock poll surveys and exit poll discussions on different channels rule the roost nowadays as the election temperature soars high. Coming days are sure to witness a lot of exit polls in the infinite number of channels. But do these exit polls do any good? Other than attracting viewers, forcing them to be glued to the channel and maintaining the channels’ TRP exit polls , most often such exit polls give wrong predictions, error stuffed calculations and at times changes the complete perspective and idea of the ordinary voter.
Exit polls should be either curbed or should not be aired especially during the polling season as it tampers and tarnishes the very character of having a truly democratic fair and just poll. After all in a democracy each and every citizen has his or her own right to choose their representative and let citizens prudence be given priority as they are ones to decide who should lead the nation.
