Unceremonial shunting of Guv

It was known two weeks ago that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had managed to convince his High Command that Satya Pal Malik should be removed as Goa Governor. The decision at the highest level was taken and all that they were waiting was for the Independence Day ceremony to be over.

The post of Governor is an important constitutional post and as the Chief executive of the State has Executive, Legislative, Judicial and Financial powers amongst other discretionary powers to ensure the smooth running of a State. When the Government of the day abdicates in its duty the Governor is duty bound to step in, and Satya Pal Malik intervened in the State’s interest on issues like Mhadei, mining, COVID crisis and that skewed move of the Government to construct a new Raj Bhavan. He was also so keen that Goa should focus on agriculture and avoid environmental degradation.

The very unceremonial shunting of Satya Pal Malik was in bad taste. Goa has lost out on a gregarious personality with a robust heart who has always been a socialist. He was indeed a good listener with a very clear mind and believed in achieving results. A very caring and considerate soul he was.

We have lost a very modest, practical Governor who believed in delivering good governance to the poorest of the poor. He was very anguished and pained at the manner in which Goa was being misgoverned.

With a very irresponsible and insensitive Government in power, our only saving grace was that in Satya Pal Malik we had a very proactive and astute Governor who did not tolerate or approve any reckless actions and wrong decisions.

In his just 10 month tenure in Goa the very amiable Governor Malik was very popular and became the people’s voice while making the Raj Bhavan accessible to the common man. He had a mind of his own and to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s dismay Satya Pal Malik very rightly refused to be a rubber stamp Governor.

Loyalty to Constitution

The thinking people of this state, those who are concerned about, and care for the future of Goa and the future of the future generations of Goans, woke up to the somewhat sad news that the present Governor of Goa has been transferred to a distant north eastern state.

This Governor been perceived to stand up and speak out without fear or favour, for the good and the rights of Goa and Goans. It would seem that, as a reward, he has been shunted out to a distant  state.  Whether by his choice or chance, no one will really know.

But the common public perception is that he paid the price for fearlessly speaking out the truth and standing up for what is right and the good of Goa and Goans. Unfortunately it would appear that the powers that be do not understand or respect the fact that constitutional authorities are appointed to be loyal to,  and to uphold,  the constitution and the rule of what is right, and not to be blindly loyal to a party or to a person!

Is it not a sad day and a sad way for this country to go 73 years after the independence of this nation from colonial rule?

Honest governor transferred

It is sad news for the people of Goa because the State Government don’t want honest Governor in the state and this is the reward they give when you work for the people in our country. We knew this will happen, the transfer because you were  a no non-sense person and BJP don’t want  people  like you, they want corrupt person in the system so that they can go on looting us in the name of development.

God bless you where you have been transferred. Malik you were one of the best Governor in Goa. The transfer clearly shows that something is fishy. The BJP government, can’t listen to the truth, hope the bhakts realise this soon.

Shameless greedy

Our politicians are shameless and greedy and good for nothing. We wish you best of luck and may God bless you wherever you go and keep you in good health. Modiji we want Satyapalji as our governor back again if you really care for the citizens of this country.

SC judgement on Sushant case

Finally, the Supreme Court of India passed its landmark judgement authorizing the CBI to take over the investigation of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s  death case thereby casting its doubt on the investigation so far done by Mumbai Police. It is a victory for justice which evaded since last  2 months allowing the false propaganda by the Maharashtra Government  declaring that Sushant was not murdered but committed suicide.

To cover up and to protect the culprits the Mumbai  Police and Maharashtra Government left no stone unturned thus making a mockery of justice. It is dangerous now to see entrusting the task of giving justice to the affected citizens when the protectors and giver of justice are turned irresponsible.  It is a pity that in India things are going so bad.

Because of this faulty investigation, people have lost their confidence in their governments at their State levels and when this is the case how the ordinary citizen will get justice?  Because of the strong stand taken by Arnab Goswami thru his TV Channel, things worked well in the case of Sushant case which is going to be handled by CBI now otherwise what would be the case?

All the important persons from Mumbai  and Maharashtra government if they have any shame namely the Home Minister and Police Commissioner, they  must either resign or forced to quit their offices because they proved to be unworthy for their posts.

Governor’s transfer is unfortunate

Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik was on Tuesday moved to Meghalaya, according to an order by the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This was his third shift in two years.

The governor stood by truth, emotions and sentiments of every Goan on the core issues like Mahadayi water diversion, economic revival and austerity measures, besides the government’s handling and management of the Covid-19 pandemic.  He concerned about bad finances of the state and consistently advised the government to adopt austerity measures and to stop wasteful expenditure. But the efforts made indicated clearly that there was concern and that he could be the voice that Goa needed to reach out to New Delhi.

He has been one of the few governors that Goa has had who has taken an active interest in the state affairs.  He had taken up number of issues that are currently affecting the state that had even amounted to almost reversing decisions of the government that had forced the government on the backfoot. But he will be missed for his frankness.

As in ten months  in Goa as a governor, he had brought much respectability to the office of the Governor.

Welcome SC verdict in Sushant case

Welcome Supreme Court verdict referring death-case of Sushant Singh Rajput to premier most investigating-agency Central Bureau of Investigation.

CBI requires all concerned ones in Mumbai and Maharashtra to be removed from their posts in case they do not immediately resign by themselves. BJP has rightly demanded resignation of Mumbai Police Commissioner and Maharashtra Home Minister.

In addition, enquiry should be initiated and action taken against those concerned in Mumbai Civic Body having virtually put a senior police officer of Bihar under house-arrest in name of compulsory quarantine.
