Going by media reports we are given to understand that in every country that Modi visits, he is hailed as a hero. But readers and viewers are sadly kept in the dark about the mounting opposition to Modi on foreign soil. It now transpires that at an event organized by the International Campaign against the War on the People of India (ICAWPI) Toronto, eminent progressive and anti-imperialist people and organizations joined hands to condemn Modi. We also learn that a court of law in Canada, in response to a petition, recognized that there is sufficient evidence of Modi’s involvement in the massacre of Muslims in 2002 and enough grounds for him to be brought to trial and issued summons under Section 269.1 of the Canadian Criminal Code. Shamefully the summons was immediately blocked by the Attorney General.
