Noticed the recent hype in the social media? Many of the celebrities, cricket stars and politicians have been posting selfie’s with daughters on social sites after PM Modi started his ‘Selfie with Daughters’ campaign.
PM Modi’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana has been floating far and wide and has gained support in the online world. On one hand we see so many schemes for women empowerment like Ladli Laxmi, Sukanya Samridhi etc. But on the other hand we see so many atrocities increasing day by day on women like female infanticide, dowry, domestic violence and rape cases being the most prominent.
Even with all such tremendous schemes for women’s health, education and welfare, women are apparently not at all safe in India today. When we go through any newspaper or news channel, every day we witness fresh and agonizing cases of rapes all across India. And the situation has grown so pathetic that we even see fathers molesting their daughters.
If the Modi Government really wants women to be safe and happy then it should strongly focus on the “Beta’s of Bharat” as well and perhaps come up with firm policies and schemes and security measures to safeguard the rights of girl child and women and implement stringent punishments such as death penalties for gruesome crimes like rapes.
Only then the Mahan Bharat ki Laadli Beti will actually be safe!
