Day in and day out, we read about the atrocities committed by the ISIS on innocent civilians in the Middle East. Following the beheading of an Egyptian Christian in Libya to the current capture of 70 Assyrian Christians near the border of Syria (who no doubt will meet the same fate), the carnage seems to have no end. Other then few Arab countries with the US and few European nations, rest of the world is watching in a mute silence. It is high time everybody understand that the ISIS is a cancer that will fast spread to the rest of the world and will be at their doorstep in no time unless action is taken to eliminate it completely from the face of this world.
Air strikes alone are proving insufficient and it’s time to put boots on the ground. The United Nations should mobilise an armed force strong enough to destroy the ISIS comprising of all the nations as soon as possible. It is important to remember that in order to maintain peace sometimes it’s necessary to start a war.
