Power supply to villages

Recently new electricity transformers have been installed at Navelim in the presence of the Power Minister and the Fisheries Minister.
In his address, the local MLA and the minister promised that soon the underground cabling work will be done in Navelim. They keep on promising of doing good works in the villages. What the villages (wards) of Navelim failed to understand is that for so many years why the Electricity Department cannot provide regular or continuous power supply to the households.
For more than thirty years, the people of Fradilem which is one of the wards in Navelim does not have regular power supply. One must live in this village to know the plight of these people.
There is a transformer which is just about three hundred metres away from the village but due to reasons known to Electricity Department, the power supply to this ward is given from the transformer which is located about three kilometres away. When the villagers complained about the irregular electricity supply to the households, the local MLA as well as the Electricity Department promised to resolve the issue by installing a new transformer.
Till this day nothing happened and the plight of these villagers remains the same. Therefore, the need of the hour is to provide the uninterrupted power supply to the villages and not the underground cabling work.
