We have noticed that every year the daily wage rates of the construction workers in Goa are increasing and needs an urgent regulation to address this burning issue effecting majority of the Goans.
The migrant construction labourers based in Goa are exploiting the vulnerability and lack of construction skills of Goans. The daily wage rates of construction labourers in Goa should be categorized based upon their skills. The government must introduce construction labour card which shall indicate their skill, photo, card number, age, address in Goa, contact number and signature of issuing authority.
The government can increase or revise the daily wage rates on regular basis depending on the inflation and other local factors. People who work in the construction industry on daily wage rate, should adhere to the government regulations and whoever fails to follow it should be penalised and imprisoned.
