If the intention is to collect a few pieces of silver the government is rewarding the people who have broken the law for a price. If the financial situation is so bad all the government has to do is make an effort to collect the 35,000 crore due on account of illegal mining. Unfortunately even here the government’s mantra is reward the law breaker. This action of the government is an insult to the law abiding citizens. It sends out a signal to the law breakers that their actions however much against the law will be regularized at some future date.
