With the phasing out of John Fernandes, the ex-GPCC President will the Congress do anything better in Goa? The Party was given a rout in the 2012 assembly election in a fitting manner to clean the party of dirty politics and in a major clean up operation.
Now only 9 representatives are warming the benches in the august house absolutely doing nothing but submitting to the dictates of the Chief Minister who seems to control almost everything under the Goan sun with his shrewdness and tact. Corruption, inefficiency, bribery and loot mar for vested interest was the order of the day during the Congress rule in Goa.
Family raj brought disgrace to the party. The so called High Command took no note of the happenings in Goa but being influenced by the powerful with threat and money power the old Congress blocks seem to be desperate to come to power again not to serve the people but to show their supremacy. However the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections were a good lesson for all politicians to know that they cannot play with power of the people.
The task now before Luizinho Faleiro is not to be sympathetic toward his old folks but to give a major shakeup for the party with new vibrant faces for a better Goa and a clean administration. Will he succeed, its a wait and watch scenario now.
