It’s that time of the year when entertainers present their quotes to various resorts around Goa and believe me, it’s a time which you prefer to forget, cause it’s not the competition that gets to you, but the cheap attitude of many an entertainer, that follow the policy “cheaper the better”.
Well, I’m afraid, while there are resorts and restaurants that understand the importance of employing good musicians by paying them well, a majority of the resorts go by the price tag without understanding the difference between “live music” and “downloaded sequenced music, with a joker on stage swaying to the beat”.
It would be much nicer if all entertainers used “quality of performance and music played”, as a benchmark to bag contracts. While cheap entertainers display a distorted image of the quality of musicians available in Goa, many of the hotel authorities are guilty of offering sub-standard entertainment to tourists visiting Goa by employing these cheapos. Remember “Quality doesn’t come cheap”.
