In parliament, it’s charge versus charge, scam versus scam. Faced with opposition demands for resignation of scam-tainted politicians, the BJP has retorted by attacking scam tainted Opposition party leaders in States. The contagion seems to have spread to Goa. The BJP went to town casting aspersions on politicians of the previous government for their alleged involvement in the ‘Watergate’ scandal. On the back foot, the opposition has now put the government in a quandary by demanding that the Mopa project too needs to be probed, as the same firm was awarded the consultancy contract. This is politics. After some time they will kiss and make up. After all, how many tainted politicians have retired voluntarily? Or how much money has ever been recovered from convicted scamsters?
