When people gather in such large numbers at one place, security always becomes a matter of concern. It must be said that terrorists strike wherever large crowds gather and at the opportune time. It is observed that while the security is heightened during the first few days of the festival, latter on there is a lapse in the security. Cops are seen manning the security towers put along the Swatantra Path during the first few days. The security at the Vasco Saptah needs to be the top priority and should be in place as long as the fair is allowed to continue by the authorities. The CCTV monitors need to be under scrutiny by the police at all time. Security is one aspect which cannot be taken for granted.
