Tough talk or lip talking by Obama

It refers to ‘tough’ talking on eve of his visit to India by US president Barrack Obama against militant activities emerging from Pakistani soil. But in practice such tough talking is nothing but just lip talking, because it is a well known fact that US is the only hyper-power country in the world which is practically in all aspects capable to effectively control militancy-heaven Pakistan. Well established proof is US planes entering Pakistan uninformed to capture US biggest enemy Osama-Bin-Laden with Pakistan not daring to even raise a voice of dissent against US.
Pakistan is mostly dependent on US for its economic and military needs. But US has never even warned Pakistan for imposing necessary censors on such assistance to Pakistan for a pre-condition to really take practical measures to stop militant-activities from Pakistani soil against India. Every demand made by India to check militancy including its requirement for mastermind of infamous 26/11 Mumbai-attack can be fulfilled if US really wishes to do so.
Not helping India practically has harmed US itself. If US would have assisted India in IC-814 hijack episode, perhaps 9/11 attack on US would not been possible.

Stamp on St Joseph Vaz
Goans appreciated the efforts of the Post Master General (Goa) Charles Lobo and his team who made it possible in releasing a special designed cover with postal cancellation on 14 January 2015 to mark the canonization of Blessed Joseph Vaz, a son of the soil who became the first Goan to be declared a Saint by Pope Francis in Sri Lanka on the same day.
My humble request to the Prime Minister of India, Union Communication Minister and the Director General of India Post, to issue a commemorative postage stamp on Saint Joseph Vaz at the earliest on an appropriate occasion, along with an information folder as the same could not be released on the canonization day by India Post, due to the short notice received by them on the  proposed commemorative stamp. The folder should be like a lighthouse which spreads its light of information and knowledge on the life of Saint Joseph Vaz.

Don’t mix religion with politics
This is reference to the CM’s statement published on 22nd January 2015. He said some people are born with disabilities due to a mistake and negligence committed by God and He has forgotten to give body parts to many people.
Mr CM being on CM’s seat don’t try to be God, because God is always there and that seat is there only for 5 years or for you only for another 2 years. No one knows who will sit on it after your term, but only God knows. By making such statements what do you want to prove? God always do what is good for the people, otherwise you may have not been the CM of Goa. Instead of being thankful to God you are saying God  also does mistakes? What you should have said if I had said “God has done a big mistake by making you as the CM of Goa? What would have been your reaction?
The people who are born with some disabilities is the power of God, because He wants to show us that disabled people have more strength, Will power and they are more stronger than the normal people.

Steps to check swine flu
Besides issuing advisories to citizens to cover their nose and mouth in the event of detection of a couple of cases of Swine Flu, the Goa government does not appear to be taking any serious steps to prevent the spread of the virus. Goa’s borders are open to tourists to ‘Come and Make in cash starved Goa’ and spread the virus with no checks at bus terminus’ and other public places. The government seems to absolve itself of any responsibility with such cosmetic steps like issuing advisories.

Need that break
No relationship is without it’s difficulties. That does not mean love comes with a series of troubles. It only means it has challenges and to overcome these challenges we should look for opportunities. A holiday is one such opportunity.
The monotonous routine sometimes really gets on one’s nerve. School, office, household chores seem to become a burden. Couples start blaming each other for meagre things. Instead of coming together to sought out things they find solace in other things that gives them their individual space. This space slowly  drifts them apart causing severe problems.
A small vacation with your spouse can make a huge difference. It not only makes one feel loved but also draws couples closer and rejuvenates the relationship . Discovering new places and new things also makes life exciting and keeps one amused. So next time you get an opportunity don’t miss it just break free.

Promises and Lies
This is with reference to the news report ‘Cong: Elect Furtado and we will move casinos out of River Mandovi’, Herald dtd. 23rd January 2015.
It is a known fact that politicians wealth thrive on the casinos business in the state. The greed of our politicians to make a fast buck is ruining the State. The question that comes to my mind is, when Congress was in power for years they could not do anything about it, so what difference will it make now if its candidate is elected?
Many other promises will follow in the coming days from candidates. It is therefore time for the people of Panjim to put on their thinking hats on and vote wisely, to avoid further destruction of the Capital City.
