The Prime Minister has asked the rich and the middle class to give up their gas subsidy. I agree to this and would like to do so but in return, I would like all those who run our country at the Centre and the States to also reciprocate the generous offer. If all the MLAs and MPs waive off their subsidy, the people would salute them. They would be setting an example to the citizens. Most MPs and MLAs declared incomes running into crores of rupees. When will they think of the poor and waive of the perks they enjoy like free telephones, free mobile services, free electricity, free accommodation in luxury bungalows, free travel, foreign jaunts, health care and security, all from the honest tax payers money. When people in India cannot afford a meal a day the elected representatives get full meals for just Rs 12 in the Parliament canteen. If all the elected representatives give away the subsidy and pay from their own pockets there will be no poverty in our country.
