Love or Hate?

I am sure most of us have watched debates on TV news channels, or read newspaper reports on the growing “popularity” of “fundamental Jihadists”. Perhaps, also, most of us would have been abhorred at some of the comments, ideology, or even the actions of people over a wide spectrum ranging from Pakistani terror outfits, to separatists, to Al-Qaida, Al-Shabbah, ISIS and Boko Haram, just to name a few!
We have seen ISIS flags waved in the desert and in the Valley, abductions, rapes and killings in Nigeria, bombings, and acts of terrorism in many western countries (especially in France lately), beheadings of Christians and others, and general mayhem around the world! For the past week almost, I have listened to unending debates and discussions on TV about NSA level talks between India and Pakistan (which have now been cancelled). There is terror attributed to the Hindu and Sikh communities as well, and it could also be attributed to other communities in future.
I am certain there are numerous “experts” in various governments of the world who advise on the best way to tackle, halt, and even wipe out terror, but, so far, their results have been pathetic! If anything, terror and its outfits have grown by leaps and bounds. I don’t claim to be an expert in these matters, but here’s my take on the scenario so far, with a possible solution! From time immemorial, there has been an unhealthy attitude involving violence in the name of religion, country, caste, colour, and creed. Added to these, there has also been the tendency to slaughter innocents in conquests for land, water, mineral, and natural resources. The present day “fighters” are guilty of doing exactly the same thing, for the same reasons, as all others who went before them!
Governments and people responded in the only way they knew how to – countering violence with violence! Yes, there have been some isolated attempts at diplomacy, but all-in-all, they have not been hugely or permanently successful. For the life of me, I still cannot understand why there is conflict between black and white people, Arab against Jew, Hindus against Muslims, upper caste against Dalits, Muslims against Christians etc.
All are guilty of only trying the secular approach, and failing miserably almost each time while the beast of violence reaches gargantuan proportions! Why haven’t many more governments and leaders tried the Biblical/humanitarian approach? Mainly because they are so afraid that if this new approach works, many would turn to Christianity thereby depleting their own earnings through war and destruction, their vote banks and religious masses! They fail to grasp the truth that man cannot change or convert any person, only God through His Holy Spirit can do the work! Also, the name of Jesus Christ is a “dirty” word to them, for they could not personally live by all that HE teaches!
