3 washrooms for ` 5.89 cr, Mr Parsekar

This has a reference to a news item under the above heading on Herald dated April 16.  I was shocked to read this news that the 3 washrooms cost Rs 5.89 crores. Herald has given full details of this scam. In contrast, 200 sq.mtrs Government Primary School at Tonca, Kamrabhat has cost Rs 70.16 lacs, reconstruction of Government Primary School at Falwada, Cudnem, Bicholim has cost Rs 71.78 lacs and construction of Primary School at Tamsodo, Dharbadora has cost Rs 99.77 lacs.
During the election of 2012, one of the main promise of BJP was zero- tolerance to corruption. There are so many scams which have surfaced during the tenure of this government including beach cleaning, etc. Is this not corruption? If the Government thinks that they are clean, I request them to investigate the above scams to prove that they are innocent and not corrupt. This has to be done before the election 2017. If this is not done, we will presume that this Government is corrupt.
Incidentally, I have read another news on Herald about the ordinance likely to regularize unauthorized structures. It says after failing to introduce the bill on regularization of Illegal/unauthorized structures and encroachments during the Budget Session of the Assembly in March, the Govt. now proposes to issue an ordinance in this regard. Parsekar said the government may come out with such an ordinance to regularize structures existing before Feb 28, 2014 with conclusive documentary evidence. In this regard I would like to state that the Government is afraid to put up this proposal to Assembly for fear of revolt of party MLAs because most of them are not agreeing to this proposal because of fear of the electorate and finally losing the next election to be held in 2017.
Parsekar, put up this bill in the Assembly and let there be discussion on the said bill to know the opinion of MLAs who are the representative of the people of Goa. Please don’t listen to Mauvin and Alina because in their constituencies these illegal houses exist and the illegal immigrants are finally their voters. They fear if this is not done, they will lose in their respective constituencies in their next election. I request this Government to think before you do something bad and not to sell Goa to these illegal immigrants. Goa is already oversold!
