31st the night of violence

The 31st night of the year happens to be the most  extravagant, violent, obscene and  intoxicated night of the year and it is sad that still people globally find it entertaining and wastefully  spend  to  celebrate it! In routine life none of the above mentioned  actions would be tolerated in the bye lanes and even the pubs of metropolitan cities, but on  the night 31st December every indecency is accepted.
Farm houses are booked, five star hotels are booked, high-fi clubs are booked and small time actors and actresses who are famous for obscenity  are booked. There are New Year Eve tours in India, which were unheard of  before. Beautiful beaches of Goa are dirtied,  broken  alcohol bottles thrown away  and used condoms scattered everywhere on the streets and car parking zones. Lewd dancers are paid heavily to display vulgar dance. Gujarati news paper has given a good description of the changing habits  in Gujarat  while celebrating new year. Alcohol is banned in Gujarat so the Gujaratis book Mumbai and Rajasthan paying any thing between100 (Rs 5300) $ US to 1200(Rs 64000) US $.
In Goa, there are Rave parties. For those who don’t know the term Rave party it is a gathering of the superlative lewd people who take drugs to dance whole night. Russian tourists have arrived in thousands to enjoy with the unemployed  girls who, otherwise cannot work after 10 pm as per the law. The Rave parties fetch 500 US $ (Rs 26000) per participant. Cambodia and Thailand have put restrictions on such parties but Goa is prospering. For the thousands of Russians and rich Indians 31st December is a time for “sex, drink and drug tourism”.
There is a well known phrase in Urdu.. Begani shaadi mein Abdullah diwana…(A common passerby will join and dance in any marriage procession without even knowing who the groom is!) This is how new year is celebrated everywhere across the world… Nobody dares to challenge or questions the merit of this celebration. It seems as if the entire thinking and decision making process of the masses had been bought up by the marketers. Sane people do not  know what fun is there in such wild celebrations.
