A world of optimism and hope

I write this with reference to the letters to the editor, May 24, 2018 Herald by some quick to respond people, like Jose Maria Miranda, Sandeep Heble to name some, who spoke about the Archbishops appeal for prayers for the country. Rightly said we all know that politics in India is a not-so-clean game and the need of the hour is a positive mind and prayers.
We bless people when we give them something of ourselves that we will never ask them to give back, by believing in them by standing by them especially when they are in need of encouragement.
As the sun coaxes open the petals of the daisy on a spring morning so do love and encouragement of friends opens the goodness in us. Every season is a time to say prayer of thanks for people who keep on loving, giving, and encouraging, throwing light on matters that are misunderstood, without whom we would have surrendered to the dark night of history a long time ago. Their lives reflect understanding and a desire to see things in the right perspective. It is a longing in the heart of true followers of any religion to bring all men and women of good will together, for collective action to preserve and further social harmony, with the belief that intellectuals, spiritual leaders, men and women from all sections of society can unleash a positive energy.
The planet desperately needs more peace makers, helpers, healers, restorers, thank God and that we have people, we can count on, is a blessing. Thanks to our friends for speaking out, sorting out what was the truth about the Delhi’s Archbishop’s appeal for prayer and hopefully there will be a trust on the real intention of the Archbishop’s letter, defusing all the fuss that has been made and assuring the minorities that India will continue to be a nation that imbibes the spirit of living in peace and harmony each group has something to offer to make this land a land of peace and not chaos.
“Into that heaven of freedom let my country awake” Tagore wrote. Where there will be no social evils like fear, ignorance, laziness, intolerance, disharmony, prejudices and such. A nation’s greatness depends on its leader. A good leader!
