Blame not others, but ourselves!

The political blame game has already started in the State of Goa  as it is rumoured  that the  Assembly elections are round the corner. When the election time comes, the shrewd politicians change their colours like chameleons and we Goans fall in their traps. The recent  Facebook  post of MLA Babush Monserrate has received  wide circulation, wherein he has blamed his friend and colleague, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for the current devastated situation in Goa. He has a message to one and all that the  buck stops only with the  ministers of the State. He goes on to say that Vishwajit Bab should take the responsibility of people dying and that he will speak the truth and took the social media platform to attack his colleague. What about Babush and the other MLAs taking responsibility for the death of their constituents?  Are they not equally answerable to their people?

Goans should be wise in understanding the dirty game the  politicians are playing on them. They have started playing with emotions of their constituents by passing the buck on others. They know how to play with the sentiments of people to win votes. The cheerleaders who roam during campaigning with their masters, where have they disappeared when people want oxygen, ICU beds, ventilators, beds etc.?  As they go begging to seek votes they also should have been on the field to help the needy. Most of the MLAs are hiding in their palatial bungalows leaving and abandoning their constituents who are in dire need .

No MLA has formed a Task Force at the constituency level to deal with the humanitarian crisis. But have rather chosen to blame each other for their incompetence. Recently, our lawyer turned politician Adv. Radharao Gracias had written an article in  praise of Babush Monserrate after winning the Panjim Corporation election, calling him a smart politician. It will be a misnomer to call him a smart politician because a smart politician will remain in opposition and get the work done for his constituency. None of them has learnt any lesson from our late visionary CM Manohar Parrikar, as to how he single-handedly brought BJP to power in the State by remaining for long in the opposition.

The famous old saying, if you fool me once, shame on you, if you fool me twice,  shame on me, suits well for Goans and Indians  at large,  as we have truly become a nation of fools by electing time and again such uneducated and incompetent nincompoops. Today,  Goans have invited this crisis upon themselves. At least now wake up, be alert and punish those MLAs who are playing with your emotions and, more importantly, with your lives.

Seek accountability from them but Goans, how will you make them accountable when in the first place, you have taken bribes from them  in the form of refrigerators, TVs,  electronic items, money, etc.? Will you have the courage to blame them for their failure when you accepted bribes and favours from them? What a society have we become today that we have buried our conscience?

Today, the stark reality is before us. The Government of India has failed to provide even oxygen to its  citizens leaving them to their mercy.
