A few BJP politicians (which include chief minister, Manohar Parrikar) were seen recently cleaning a few selective places carrying brooms in their hands and posing for photographs to kick start the month long government of India’s much-hyped mission ‘Swachh Bharat’ or clean India campaign in Goa.
If these politicians were really serious in cleaning Goa, then instead of indulging in cheap gimmicks, they should have first gone to personally clean all the major fish markets and the famous garbage sites, especially the one at Saligao hilltop. Prime minister, Narendra Modi’s idea of ‘Swachh Bharat’ or ‘Clean India’ campaign might sound very exciting for some but practically, is it possible to clean this country in just one month? Forget one month or five years, I personally believe that it is near impossible to clean this country even in the near future. I dare to say this confidently because I find that most Indians are habitually communal-minded who posses habits of keeping the environment and surroundings always dirty.
Don’t most Indians love chewing ghutkaa and paan and enjoy doing their favourite spray painting at all the public places of India? Don’t they (especially from the interior Indian villages) love pissing anywhere and even enjoy answering nature’s call at different open places of India? Don’t they wickedly love dumping all types of garbage near roadsides, rivers and even in their neighbour’s properties? I therefore think that instead of dreaming of cleaning India through some cheap publicity stunts like cleaning selective public places, Prime minister, Narendra Modi should immediately launch a campaign to eradicate the real forms of evils like caste system, dowry system, khaap panchayats, moral policing, promotion of black magic, superstitious beliefs and outdated cruel religious rituals to make India really free and to take it to greater heights in the near future. Yeah, it’s time to clean the wicked-filled hearts of all Indians first and then to think of really cleaning India.
