The FC Goa team has given another dismal performance and has really disappointed thousands of die-hard football crazy Goan fans. The boys as expected has lost 2-1 again for the fourth time due to poor defending/finishing after leading 1-0 just before halftime after playing against Kerala Blasters the other day despite of playing in front of their thousands of football-crazy Goan fans who had come to support them at Fatorda. Well, I just don’t understand why coach Zico is still keeping our local Goan players on the bench and bringing unfit players like Robin Singh (who incidentally was rightly not signed by his earlier Delhi Dynamos team for this season due to his injury). He starts with Robin despite knowing fully well that the said player is just not capable of scoring goals this season.
The defence wall led by Gregory Arnolin too is seen crumbling like a pack of cards so very often due to the silly blunders and fooling around of all the defenders who are seen deliberately taking things very lightly.
The FC Goa players are just not seen playing to their potential this season, as most of them seem to be very slow, unfit, over aged and due to this reason are even seen failing to score some simple goals. I think that even our local football players playing for different village clubs would have done a much better job and would have definitely gone to score so many goals for this FC Goa team with a lot of accuracy if they were given a chance to play for this team. The one thing I still don’t understand is that what type of training this FC Goa team was really given during its one month’s stay at Brazil. Or was the team (which included that of injured players) simply taken for a jolly sight-seeing or a leisure tour for enjoyment purpose in Brazil simply wasting so much of money?
I think that the FC Goa head coach Zico and the team management needs to do a lot of answering at the very earliest or else should get ready not just to lose fans but also to see half empty crowds at the Fatorda stadium for all their future remaining matches in Goa. We Goans are historically known as winners in football and not losers. Hope the FC Goa team takes a serious note of the same and really does something very extraordinary to make a big comeback very soon or else should get ready to finish last on the table in the ongoing ISL tournament… Forca Goa… Let’s Football.
