Since the time the BJP government has come to power at the centre, right-wing organizations are seen continuously maligning minorities with all kinds of allegations and even threatening of converting them into Hinduism by marketing their own stupid nonsense called ‘Ghar-Wapasi” or Home-Coming ‘natak’.
First of all, I just don’t know why it has suddenly become a crime for a Christian or a Muslim to live in this country and too, only after the BJP government coming to power at the Centre?
Of course, the fanatics of these right-wing organizations say that the reason why they are hell-bent on converting all minorities into Hinduism is because they claim that their forefathers too were once Hindus and they were converted by foreign rulers like the British, Portuguese, Mughals, etc using force. Now, on what basis are they claiming that all minorities living in India were once Hindus?
Can they produce the original birth certificates of all the great grandfathers of our Indian minorities to prove that point? And even if the forefathers of all the minorities had really converted in the past due to various reasons then why should these fanatics make a big noise over the same when the minorities are currently very much happy with their respective religions?
The issue of religious conversion is a personal matter of every living individual and due to which the same right has been fully guaranteed in our Indian Constitution. The Constitution rightly gives every Indian citizen the birth right to choose and to follow any religion of his or her own personal choice as free-born human beings.
Unfortunately, the reason why these fanatics are hell-bent on interfering in the personal affairs of Indian citizens even in terms of religion is that’s because they somehow want to forcibly promote their own personal sick agendas over others to take away the fundamental basic rights especially of all minorities by portraying them as major villains. By doing so, these fanatics, in effect, are destroying India by making Indians to fight against each other in the name of caste, creed and religion.
I think that those who not believe in respecting other religions and who live only to spread hatred against others on flimsy reasons should stop giving their own lectures of Indian culture because whether it is Hindu, Christian or Muslim culture, they all finally teach just one thing for their respective followers. And that is to respect all religions and treat everyone equally. Long live Indian Secularism! Down with pseudo-nationalism/communalism.
