Many of us believe that God creates only goodness, whereas others believe that God creates evil too, because it’s also believed that everything comes from God. I believe that all kinds of suffering and all kinds of undesirable situations are the by-products of humans. In the olden times, we did not have guns, nor did we have atom bombs and other kinds of weapons which destroy mankind in no time. So, actually the evils that exist in this world are not God-made, they are all man-made. Since the evils are man-made, then man can also stop it or avoid it, instead of blaming God all the time. Generally, due to our own frustrations we breed some kind of atmosphere within us and try to take revenge in some way or the other. We develop hatred towards one another where it is not necessary at all and can we blame God for this? Isn’t this our own fault, then?
At times we observe that our lives have become intolerable as this is due to us, primarily as we allow evil to come into our lives. So as not to allow evil to enter our lives we should be doing good to others and keeping our commandments. We should have a genuine fellowship with God in everything; specially, when trials befall us, we ought to constantly pray to Him and look to Him without planning for our own self, and never deny Him or leave Him. We got to realise that our lives become miserable and unhappy when evil creeps into our lives and sometimes it becomes too late as we realise that this is not a good thing for us.
Indeed, we are all connected to each other through the power of God as we are all the children of one God and hence we should never feel lonely. It should not matter to us how many friends we have or how much money others have etc, we need to be satisfied and content deep in our hearts always. Occasionally, we do not know what is it that we are lacking in our lives; this is perhaps, because we have forgotten to tune in with the network that connects us as a whole, with all. That’s why Emerson wisely said “A great burden falls from our shoulders when we let God run the universe. To let God run the universe doesn’t mean we sit there and wait for bread to fall from the sky. It means that we work together with the whole universe. And whatever we do, it will be blessed, watched over, and helped by the whole power. Therefore, we will be the great beings.”
Importantly, one person, however, good cannot do much. But together we can achieve a lot. And if all are together in unison we cannot but help ourselves to be successful. I realised a long time ago that all the achievements aren’t worth anything if you can’t take the time to enjoy your own life and the life that’s going on all around us on this amazing planet of ours. Apparently, we need to understand how we are filled with joy when we take a few moments to appreciate the beauty that is all around us. The simplest things bring awe when we actually allow ourselves to take it in. Let’s enjoy a cup of coffee just a little bit more every morning as we watch the trees blow in the wind. As for me, I take every moment to appreciate the beauty around me even though there is so much pollution, so much dirt and muck around in our neighbourhod, markets etc.
