Frame rules for renting out residential complexes

Utt Goenkara Utt, Nidhantlo Utt, is a wake up call. When a person speaks in favour and welfare of Goans, he is a Goan. We are blinded with our susegad and peace-loving tag. If the Herald which is ‘voice of the people’ tries to awaken Goans, I welcome the call.
Goa is a weekend holiday destination and every weekend we have tourists from all over India, turning up for cheap liquor, cheap fuel, cheap hotels/motels. Gujarat and Kerala are no longer States where alcohol is freely available. So that adds up to the problem of influx of tourists in Goa from all States. The tourists think they can enjoy and leave their trash behind.
Every residential complex in the coastal belt is a mess in Goa. It is either being run like an illegal hotel or a brothel. Goa is no more a place for peace loving Goans. It has become a land for outsiders. If we Goans have no say in this, then outsiders will frame rules and dictate terms to us. If there is a rule or policy, it is flouted. There is a need to frame rules in Goa.
A residential complex should not be let-out to tourists on daily basis. All hotel agents must have a license and they must be attached to registered hotels. Also, a flat/house should have a proper license to let out their property to agents.
I appeal to the Calangute panchayat and MLA of Calangute to frame rules for tourists. Welcome the tourists but don’t neglect Goans.
Dear Goans, don’t sell Goa and yourself for money. The outsiders will come and go, but we Goans will have to deal with the mess for lifetime. So let’s appeal to the lawmakers to form policies for local tourists and foreign tourists.
We can make Goa richer and cleaner with our policies and strict rules and tackle the problem with a vision.
