A lot been said and heard about Father Bismarque Dias, who died a mysterious death when mai Goa needed him most.
He was a true blooded Goemkar who loved and respected mother nature and fought till the end to preserve and protect what little natural remained in the one-time very beautiful state of Goa for our generations yet to see the light of our common home earth, ruled by selfish people who can go to any dirty extent for personal gains.
I saw this great warrior Goemkar for the first time during the musical ‘Save Carmona’ protest which made my dead hope alive regarding Goa. Positive thoughts came to my mind that it won’t be so easy for the destroyers to destroy Goa when people like Bismarque are leading the battles. But unfortunately that was the last time I saw him singing and speaking for Carmona and Goa.
He had nothing to gain in the fight to save the environment but he fought continuously and tirelessly to save Goa for our future generations. He lost his precious life which all of us will lose one day, some day but people like me lost hope regarding the rescue of sinking Goa after his mysterious death.
One thing I can surely say, that the warrior’s mother suffered the most and the poor old woman is still suffering for no fault of hers. The body of this great soul is still lying in the morgue and I hope it is not rotting. We all celebrated Diwali and we jammed up during Christmas. Our daily routines are going on as usual but this poor mother of the great soul, Father Bismarque, continues to suffer.
Adeus and Rest in Peace Father, though I know you will not.
