How many mother tongues do Goans have?

The ongoing imbroglio between the BJP government and BBSM with regard to the Medium of Instruction (MoI) is confusing and disturbing. The fanatics, who demand the withdrawal of grants to English medium schools managed by the Diocesan Society, prove that they are trying to divide Goans on communal lines and are supporting their families by teaching in English language schools and colleges managed and owned by them.
Subhash Velingkar, Uday Bhembre and Arvind Bhattikar are stooping to the gutter level by firing at Christians. The Christians have done and are doing yeomen services to the universal mankind. If they only knew the work done by Mother Teresa, they would have not barked. Goa does not belong to Velingkar, Bhembre and Bhattikar. Let them show what they have done to Goa and Goans. They are sending their children and grand children to English medium schools and depriving others to do so. Marathi is a fully developed language and is the mother tongue of Maharashtra and they don’t need the support of Goans for its further development. The schools that are run by the DSE are being benefitted by majority community and minority community does not have any regret over this as long as they human beings.
English is a universal language and how it benefits only those who have studied it will know. The grants given by the government to these schools are not coming from the pockets of these fanatics. The money that is stacked in government treasury belongs to each and every Goan throughhigh taxes on us. The government and the politicians have got no right to tell the children in which language they have to study. If anyone feels that the government should stop grants to DSE schools then the grants given to Marathi schools should also be stopped. Can they show us any state in India which is having more than one mother tongue? God has given us the tongue to make good use of it and not to misuse it.
