First of all congratulations to new GPCC President and lot of Goans must have been happy for your placement. Since you are a senior Congress party member and had been CM for some months, now in control of presidency which could have been better off under the predecessor. Congress party has made a mistake by absolving John Fernandes who was a loyal, honest and outright soldier of the party where the powerful money mongers were awaiting for his descent. At least he could have done away with some of the corrupt members of the party even though it would have caused some damage to the party presently but in time to come new loyal and honest faces could have been selected and build a stronger party base. Now what is our new president’s vision for the public and the Goa state, holding party reins is a humongous task, you have to steer the ship away from the troubled waters. Will you be able to handle this task?
Remember that Ravi Naik did not campaign with loyalty for his Lok Sabha seat, besides there are others who did not support south Goa member Reginald, why? Are they not Congress party loyal members, if the high command in New Delhi selects a loyal and honest party member, do others have to back off and do not support him? These powerful people can do as they desire and put the party seats into risk.
People were fed up with Congress party and decided for a change in lieu Parrikar promised special status, no for Mopa airport and zero tolerance for corruption. He has failed the people of Goa by not doing required exercise for a special status, his insistence on Mopa airport and the corruption still exist. It is time for you, Mr. Faleiro to dictate terms, have a vision and a road map to defend Goa, its people and their rights. You don’t need the old corrupt faces in your party however strong they could be, people don’t trust them anymore, do away with them if you want peoples support to be reborn, if not you are going to be a lame duck for the party.
