Just like polio-mukt Bharat or corruption-mukt Bharat, we should definitely ensure a Congress/Left-mukt Bharat! After all Congress and Left are as deadly, fatal and dangerous as polio and corruption. Perhaps drawing “inspiration” from a certain “nationalist” brigade who are of the belief that this secular multi-lingual heterogeneous democratic nation is the personal fiefdom of Hindi-speakers and Hindus; an “enlightened” section has made a grand entry in this land with the notion that Indian political scenario is the zamindari of BJP, Trinamool Congress or AIADMK (to name a few)!
Who will enlighten these dark souls that the legal right of the Congress or Left parties to engage itself in politics or contest in electoral scene is not a bit less than the self-declared democratic patriotic outfits? Yes, each party holds absolute right to criticise the policies, ideologies or governance quality of its political adversaries. Also they possess every authority to ensure their victory in elections by fighting against its opponents in free and fair way. But how can one demand complete eradication of certain parties from India as if they are akin to dust or germs? By continuously and zealously voicing such vitriolic rhetoric against the Congress and Left, the merchants of hatred are posing a severe assault on not only the Constitution; but on all norms of civility, democracy, tolerance and freedom as well. Indeed no shame is enough for the sponsors of such rabid slogan.
Definitely neither the Congress nor the Left parties are saint; but at least officially or publicly these outfits do not derive political mileage by exploiting race, language, caste, religion or region. Is there any political party in the whole country who can merit such a certificate? Instead of barbarically pursuing divisive agenda with a clever eye on demographic equation; rest of the Indian parties, each projecting itself as messiah of certain group of population, should learn from Congress and Left parties what true nationalism, respect towards diversity and accountability towards Indians of all hues are all about.
