Leave us in peace

Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru assured that we are free and we could live in peace, but we could not. Karnataka and Maharashtra started towing us. Dayanand Bandodkar started to merge us with Maharashtra.

Then Dr Jack Sequeira requested for Opinion Poll.  This poll we won and all voted in one voice – Hindus, Muslims and Christians without any difference to keep Goa separate.  Again came the language issue – Konkani and Marathi. Indian States are identified on language basis and each one has its own language.  We got Statehood and our Konkani  was approved in Parliament as State language.  Our ancestors lived for 450 years in peace and harmony with no tensions and the present generation continued so.
Late Pandit Nehru asked us to take over the administration and our people were reluctant. Then came Alban Couto as an IAS officer.  Now Tom, Dick and Harry come with their ideas to disturb our peace and dominate us.  They are like frogs who appear during the season to make a noise.  They were not bothered all these years but since now BJP is in power they want to flex their muscles.
BJP is in ruling with some altar boys who are deputed by the public from each constituency.  We have elected the CM with full majority and we expect him to make necessary development sensibly.
Pramod Muthalik  has now appeared on the scene and seems to be playing his cards openly and appears to be set to disturb the peace and harmony of this State. It’s time he should realize that Goa is literate enough to decide what’s good and bad for them. We don’t want outsiders to come in and disturb our ‘susegad’ culture. Nobody should come to our land and dictate terms to Goans, more especially, now that we have spent 60 years in peace since Liberation.
Muthalik and Sudin Dhavlaikar, you should see Indian movies which sometimes portray so much nudity and vulgar scenes and are being watched by lakhs of people across India. If your intentions are good, change that first. Our PWD minister should focus more on public grievances — water shortage, bad roads, drainages and several others striking issues that affect the common man in day to day life. Sudin, it’s not time yet for you to go to beaches right away.  People come to Goa, have good fun, eat, drink and enjoy the forbidden fruit and dictate terms to us.
We Goans have our own identity and we will fight for our rights and for our way of life. Please leave us in peace.
