The Goa where I was born was a beautiful place full of beautiful open mined people. The real beauty of Goa could not be described in words. Sadly today’s Goa is sad and bad.
Fanaticism is on the rise. Divisive forces anxiously waiting for an opportunity to disturb the long existing peace and communal harmony of Goa. The world as a whole is hungry for peace and Goa cannot afford to compromise on the centuries old and historic existence of Peace, Goa’s priceless asset.
The real beauty of real Goa is dying at a very rapid pace. Sadly these days Goa is full of all sort of ‘Premis’ except real ‘Goa-Premis’.
A mob basically means a large crowd of disorderly people gathered with an intent of causing trouble and harm. Mobs are dangerous and in a decent place like Goa, such mobs has even attacked a Police station in the past. Sadly in the recent past, Goa Police has been surrendering to these mobs very fast without even basically analyzing the situation.
No one has the right or the authority to hurt the sentiments of any religious community intentionally. Sometime ago, a woman named Sadhvi publicly said, people eating beef should be hanged. The statement was made in Goa. Someone called Velingkar every now and then insults Saint Francis Xavier known as ‘Goycho Saib’ for the faithful of Goa. Recently our CM very openly spoke about the wiping out of Portuguese culture in Goa. Cheering with a word ‘Viva’ makes a particular community anti-nationals. Does such ugly statements not hurt the sentiments of that particular respective community? Are we lesser-Indians? We as a community has always ignored such statements and will continue ignoring anything provoking. During any deliberate tensions intentionally created to disturb peace in our State, the state leaders should act wisely and try to dilute the tension instead of going to the extent to fuelling up the situation.
Rivers auctioned, hills razed into flat surfaces, these days’ forest fires has become common, National animal disrespected in open by targeting sincere environment lovers as frauds. The entire country knows who are the real frauds.
The illegal bungalow at Old Goa still stands tall. Mai Goa in general is crying for help. Sadly Goa’s warrior sons are no longer existing to save her. History is good but not at the cost of creating confusion between the otherwise very peaceful communities. Goa in general till now has proved to the world that humanity and unity in diversity comes first in Goa. Religion is secondary for a niz Goemkar.
Mob attacks are on the rise in the entire country. Manipur is still burning. The law and order has totally collapsed there. The powerless, helpless are not just attacked and killed but the innocent women were even paraded naked in open.
The entire decent Indian community irrespective of religion, caste, and creed is in utter shame but the shameless country’s politicians busy paying dirty politics rather than working overtime on the safety and security of the decent citizens of this great country.
Last but not the least, for a Goemkar like me, God is love and it teaches us to love each other. Love brings peace and Peace is a Priceless asset. Let us leave in love and not destroy our own historic Peace, the last remaining asset of Goa.
