Managing a job

Acquiring a job is not that tough, but losing it can happen in a jiffy. Therefore, managing a job at hand, and trauma of a job loss, can be the most demanding task for any worker. In contemporary breakneck and hectic work schedule, no individual, who is “not his own master”, is exempt from the fear of being deprived of his/her job. It is always better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. Sword of Damocles is always hanging on habitual late comers to workplaces, employees with moral turpitude and those who are consistently arrogant and argumentative.
Though it goes without saying that small and sick minded employers too may be reasons for the ouster of a worker from workplace, employees must continuously plan their future. Failures in life do not plan to fail; they fail to plan. Sometime god’s blessings are not in what he gives but in what he takes away. It is important for the employees to play a waiting game; but they should be not so late as to be unaware of being shunted out. Employees must be on their toes because it is infinitely superior to have a thin bird in each hand than holding a large, heavy bird in only one.
It is good to be looking for a change because being good is not enough if one can be better. Every person who works under somebody must know there is nothing like a loss, but there are plenty of lessons to learn. Remember, there are no chances in this era for people who fail to learn from their mistakes. Control of one’s mind is vital because mind is a lousy master but a wonderful servant. If the head of the organisation barks at an employee, the latter should not consider the humiliation meted out to him/her a calamity because an optimist sees opportunity in every calamity and a pessimist sees calamity in every opportunity.
Usually, a problem suggests a solution   so sitting across the table is important. Moreover, one’s time is limited so one should not waste it living someone else’s. If a worker feels it is unthinkable to continue working in a particular place, he should call it quits without creating devils in the employer’s mind. Finally, persons who manage their job well are the ones who know how to “grow” through life and not how to “go” through life.
