Mirror of your Mind and Heart

When we stand before the normal looking glass, we see our physical appearance; how we have dressed; indecently, due to Satan’s yoke; or modestly, to maintain decency as part of a civilized character?

Through human experience, we know that dust gathers in corners; it gathers there like cockroaches and lizards. And corners could be anywhere — in the room or in the mind. So, if we look through our inner mirror, it gives a dumb show of inner story — much dust within ourselves. It acts like an X-ray photography of our opinions; and a picture of our emotions; — and gives us a chance to weigh them as good or bad and change if we want to.

We are visitors on this earth and our Life here is temporary. The song, “Chaar Disanso Sonvsar” sung by Wilfy Rebimus says it all.

According to Teilhard de Chardin, a French philosopher and theologian, “We are not human beings having spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.”

Yes, our inner self is filled with the breath of life (soul); the breath of God. (Genesis 2:7).

Our Soul’s responsibility is to look within, through our symbolic inner mirror and become aware of what is going on inside us; knowing that our cunning mind distorts the body with ugly emotions. And, when the soul feels hungry, it automatically starts to look into the inner self just like the stomach when it is empty, it thinks of food. Also, just as we need exercise for our physical health, we need a regular meditating exercise for our mental and emotional well-being to clean the type of dirt within us, as under.

 (i) Whether we are drunk with the dirt of Pride; which gives a feeling of uniqueness, when desires are fulfilled; which makes us forget that all things of the world belong not to us but to Providence. Such Pride goes before destruction.

(ii) If our mind is filled with the dust of jealous thoughts; as the Konkani song “Kunnattcai” sung by Blena Faia reveals.

(iii) Whether our mind is overflowing with the mud of Greediness, for a little passing pleasure, which usually destroys any person.

(iv). There may be so many other things like Hypocrisy dominating our mind and any other unpleasant feelings inside us which we have to find out and clean the muck.

After knowing what is stuck inside our mind and heart, we can filter the Pride, Greed, Hypocrisy, and other impurities inside us and mend our wrong ways and choose those things which will give us pure and happy thoughts; and the feelings of peaceful joy; if we wish to change our life to a value based person; far, far away from the maddening crowd; away from the influence of the worldly satanic things, we have to meditate with our inner mirror.

Our mind is our best friend and it can also be our deadliest foe. A good look will serve as a laser beam for the frozen sea within us. Our mind has three strengths — will power; knowledge power; and creative power. Just as when light is focused to a single point, its power — the power of light becomes a laser beam; with it we can cut through metals; doctors can perform surgery; and we can cut the wrong things within ourselves. No doubt, we are the best brain; but either the wisdom or wicked deeds shall die with us.
