Those upcoming and seasonal politicians are just waiting to settle brownie points with their opponents whereas they don’t mean what they say.
Off late we have seen our Goan politicians lack minimum debating skills and vision for the state. Gone are the days when politics was based on principle and ideology. Some politicians in Goa consider themselves experts on all scientific and technical matters. Minimum destruction is part and parcel of any developmental project.
For our state to develop we need each and every village to have decent infrastructure and facilities. There are still some villages in Goa which don’t have electricity, water, road, hospital and telephone. We need to have smart bus stands and bus terminals which indicate timings.
No district or taluka has monopoly on development. All corners of the state need to be attended equally. Our hinterland villages and bordering villages need urgent attention with respect to infrastructure. The state government should focus on employment. Whoever opposes for the sake of opposition just to derail development is not a patriotic Indian and Goan.
Goan politicians should introspect why many Goans are migrating to other countries for better future. Only winning election should not be their criteria. Politicians should seriously address issues which affect every Goan on daily basis.
We have poor roads, poorly managed government hospitals, garbage problem, agriculture tenants’ and mundkars’ problems, drinking water problem, under staff police and other important government departments, delay in filling FIR, delay in filling charge sheet, law and order problems, drugs and prostitution menace, delays in paying contractors bills, delays in prosecution and subsequent judgments, etc.
The politicians should not play politics on rivers, airport and MoI. All progressive development agenda is welcome even if it benefits the neighbouring states. Goa is not a separate country and we are bound to feel proud of our country’s development. The people and some politicians opposing such development should come out with constructive solutions in a time bound manner with concrete workable alternative ideas.
Otherwise our unemployment figures shall keep rising and there will be consequences of our inaction.
