Price control and quality of products is the most important factor in our day to day life. Especially now when the prices are rising so rapidly and the income remains the same. Middle class people are the biggest sufferers with the increase in price because these people save more money for their future, most of the money in banks and other finances is coming from this class I mean the legal money.
Today if you go to a cafeteria or a small hotel first thing you notice is there are no menus. When you go to pay the bill you pay whatever they quote. There are no fix prices, prices vary according to them. They do not care at all because they know very well that nobody is bothered to complain against them. Once in a vegetable market I had noticed one lady buying different vegetables and when she was paying she asked how much is it and then paid whatever he said, I realized she paid Rs 35 more, so this was her approach towards the price. Cheating is a daily affair in our daily life. There is no control on price rise from any of us or from the government.
About the quality of food we get here is another thing, I want to mention about the small ‘Chinese’ food kiosk, they use very high amount of oil mostly for deep frying nobody knows what type of oil they use because you never see them changing their oil at all, from the start till the end you see the same oil, sometimes they add oil from a bowl, for taste they add lot of MSG the young generation loves this food, this food is harmful and can be an invitation for many diseases.
Lot of MSG is also used in ras omelette which is a new craze in town secondly all the garbage is thrown everywhere on the roads, gutters etc. Is the Health department, Weights and Measures department and the Municipality aware of it? Hope all these departments wake up now and take appropriate action. People should get good quality for the price they pay. After all, it’s the hard earned money of the people.
