A large number of people from the neighbouring state and different parts of India come to Goa in search of jobs. Working for their daily bread to feed their families is OK but the problem is instead of staying in a rented house they made their home anywhere on anyone’s land or property thinking that they can build houses anywhere they like. They come alone initially and gradually bring the other families. One by one they start building houses and make the entire area their ward. They know that this land does not belong to them. Sometimes they give money to some local village leader, make friendship with him, give them money so they can fool the people of Goa by building cement and concert houses illegal anywhere. They should know that the land does not belong to them. They should know that they don’t have licence or land documents with them.
They pay less money for cheap rate without documents. Without the knowledge of the village Panchayat office and Municipality Council when they knowing that they are building the houses because once they build they think the land and houses belong to them and no-one else can demolish it.
In the name of work they come to Goa, build houses and enjoy all the State benefits which even our true Goenkar does not get. Most of our Goans do not have proper place to stay. This people have house and family in their own State. What they think and come before entering Goa. Now they are saying where will we go, the answer is go to your home state to where you belong and came from. Don’t show the crocodile tears to us. Due to increase of people from other states in Goa many robberies, crimes take place in our State. We have many illegal houses in other parts of Goa and our government must take action against this migrants building houses in different places in Goa on various land.
Come on Goans let us together join our hands and stop saying ‘Mhaka kiteak Podla’ and save and protect our land before its too late.
