economic development –economically weaker section must be looked at by giving more opportunities to come up and compete in life but in no case reservation to anyone. Again and again violent stirs are seen in life resulting in loss of properties worth crores of rupees and normal life is paralysed – innocent common men are affected badly in their movement and earning their livelihood etc. The root cause of such absurd demands is to abolish reservation in national interest – politicians must not make such a dangerous reservation as their vote bank politics – see it from national perspective.
Peaceful protest is the right of every citizen in a democracy. But violent protests must be strictly dealt with by the Government. Recall the Supreme Court in past (2007) rightly termed violence and harassment to common men during protests –a national shame. The government in no way should bow down to their absurd –personal motive demand – as otherwise more of such pressurised tactics shall crop in future. The violent protest tactics are just like an act of enemy of the nation. In fact these criminal type of people (hired – not genuine in most cases) must be punished severally – jail for life imprisonment with a fine of minimum Rs 1 crore. Then only no such hired people or otherwise dare to destroy public properties.
I recall there were press reports dated May 22, 2015 that “The Union Home Ministry has accepted the Justice KT Thomas report to amend the Prevention of damage to Public Property Act to make liable violent agitators to pay compensation for the property damaged by them and imprisonment up to 10 years.” I suggest levying a penalty of minimum Rs 1 crore in addition to cost of property damaged by violent protestors and jail for life imprisonment.
