Reliability of EVMs

In the recent five state assemblies’ elections, the thumping majority winning sprees by the central ruling BJP (led NDA government) has become an eyesore to the Opposition parties and for a few Independents who contested the elections. The disgruntled losers have taken their defeat as a heart-rending in the discontentment and blamed the reliability of functioning Election Voting Machines (EVMs) which they felt and supposed favoring the winning party BJP by tricky tampering. The ‘ Birds of a feather ‘ flocked together and by raising hues and foul cries repeatedly grumbled and complained about the mal-functioning of EVMs to the EC and even approached court and filed cases of allegedly tampering and managing and manipulating EVMs by the winners in their and in the favour of their party.
However, when the Opposition Congress party won election in the State of Punjab in their favour, they (the winner party Congress/INC) never made complaint about EVMs and kept mum, the reason being that the results went in their favour. When challenged the reliability of functioning and the tamper-proofness of EVMs by nearly 13 Opposition parties (the losers) viz./namely, mainly by the AAP, Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), NCP, BSP, SP, JDU, CPI(M), RJD etc. and few Independents, the  challenge was accepted by the EC who in the past time and again assured that EVMs which were used in the elections are tamper-proof and nothing wrong/manipulation was done in the favour of winning party.
The EC asked the complaint makers/complainants to prove their saying and given a chance by providing them the used EVMs from every state. Only the two political parties viz. the NCP and the CPI (M) attended and the rest did not come forward (may be in the fear). However, the former also withdrew from the scene, stating that they remained present to watch the demonstration. The EC finally concluded and closed the chapter (Bravo! EC, actually you are the winner) giving/teaching a good lesson to the complainants who now dare not in the future demand the reliability and tamper-proofness of the EVMs.
Moral/Morale of the story/episode: Nach na Jane, Aangan teda / A bad workman quarrels with his tools/ A bad workman blames his tools.
