International Community is a body of world governments who act in functioning of other governments if there are political repressions, communal divide, religious intolerance, human right abuses etc. International Community had come to the aid of Indian citizens when Indira Gandhi defied court verdict of Allahabad High Court unseating her as the Prime Minister of India and chose to stay in power by
imposing Emergency in 1975. There were rampant human right abuses, fundamental rights were suppressed the coterie of her politicians dictated the masses. Finally in 1977 Indira bowed to the pressure of International Community and Emergency the ugliest period of free India was revoked and fresh elections were ordered in 1977.
Following US President’s visit to India earlier and his remarks not to divide the country on religious lines, on 30th April 2015, an US panel on religious freedom, has slammed India on religious intolerance and asked the US Government to convey to the BJP Government to stop the campaign of Ghar Wapasi and the continuing attacks on Christians.
Prime Minister Modi has visited US, Canada, Australia, France and Germany where he has been received well and praised for his abilities as a man of action. However he was faced with a dilemma when confronted with Ghar Wapasi and attacks on Christians, to which he promptly made clear his government does not support the concept of Ghar Wapasi and that his government is secular and there has been no distinction of the society on religious lines. The Indian Government is a little upset with this development and is expected to reply to the US government in an appropriate manner that PM Modi has already clarified his stand at the International forum on the subject of religious intolerance.
It is now clear the Modi Government does not support Ghar Wapasi and attacks on Christians. However as a Prime Minister of the country he has a right to request or silence those elements to stop their campaigns and stand for Secular India. India will lose its credibility if any other member of the International Community slams India for religious intolerance. India has always been known as a friendly country for all celebrities of the world. It is for us to give a chance to Modi as our Prime Minister to become a world statesman. He has already proved to be a worthy statesman when he transformed the Gujarat state during his tenure as a Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014.
