The prime responsibility of any elected government is the responsibility in its people, their land, safety and security not forgetting their precious identity. Every elected government since liberation turned out to be the worst enemy for their own people. The first elected government tried to sell our identity for all by merging Goa with Maharashtra but the niz Goenkars of those days unitedly fought against the merger and saved our identity. Presently some people fighting for the ”father of historic opinion poll” title is a different story.
In 2012 Goa assembly elections, BJP formed the government on their own not because Goans voted for BJP but voted against the most corrupt Congress. In the last assembly elections, in spite of the third available option, majority voted for Congress. Noted people from Salcette stood for Goem, Goenkar, Goenkarponn. The end result of elections in short, Manohar Parrikar was imported from Delhi to head the government and a government was formed and the same government is all set to create a history by killing our beautiful sensitive, villages in the name of PDAs. Our villages are our identity. Our beautiful towns been destroyed in the name of development and now the people in power are all set to finish our villages. The issue is not just North Goa. South might also be there in their dirty hidden plan. Let us together rise against this destructive forces and the win will be ours but will we rise as sons and daughters of Goa unitedly for Goa is a million dollar question? If not then let us prepare our graves.
What exactly PDAs are all about? Explain to the people, in what way it will benefit Goa and ordinary Niz Goenkars as a whole? Are PDAs all about huge buildings, big roads in our sensitive green villages with fabulous trees on either side of our present roads? If so, will our identity as villagers not be lost to the massive buildings? Goenkarponn is not just about Carnival and Shigmo, it is much more than that and it lies in our fields, hills, springs, rivers, coconut trees and aren’t you people in power trying to kill all this?
A day may not be very far where you the PDA lovers might win and we the ordinary citizens of this once beautiful Goa might lose. If we lose then our future generations who are yet to see the light of this beautiful Goa will be miserably lost even before their birth.
