No congratulations is enough for the best souls of Bengali entertainment world who have created and/or participated in the excellent musical video exposing the series of failures and brute decisions taken by the regime of “Good Days” and also highlighting the regressive communal divisive anti-democratic intolerant agenda being pursued by the outfits of saffron ideology.
Brazen distortion of history, sponsoring mythological elements as “eternal truth”, promotion of silly superstitions by overriding all norms of the Constitutional spirit of nurturing a scientific temperament which can even go to the fatal extreme of projecting cow urine as a “medicine of cancer”, imposition of rabid Hindutva in this secular democratic country, atrocities on Dalits and minorities, murderous antics of cow vigilantes, bankruptcy of that “role model of development” Gujarat, lawlessness in Uttar Pradesh with women being the most brutalised lot, saga of Ram Mandir to Kashmir along with the related communal polarisation programme, worship of Nathuram Godse, barbaric infringement in even choice of life partners by inventing “love jihad”, saffronisation of education, assaulting the dignity and rights of fellow human beings through the divisive agenda of NRC-CAA making a mockery of the secular spirit of the Constitution, foul odour of corruption revolving hush-hush Rafale deal, the inhuman callous decision of demonetisation killing hundreds and snatching livelihood of millions, etc.
And if any conscientious person dares to point out these extremely tragic horrendous developments; promptly they get branded as “Anti-national” “Urban Naxal” “Tukde Tukde” gang. By resorting to the Goebbels theory, all failures of them are swept under the carpet by accusing “Pakistan”! Any expression of free thought, which none other than the Constitution guarantees, are portrayed as “dissent.”
The video makers and participants deserve special thanks for releasing the video in this season of Assembly polls with Bengal standing at a very crucial crossroad of history whether it would draw inspiration from the best elements of Bengal Renaissance or succumb to an extremely intolerant orthodox misogynist ideology which would pose a fatal assault upon all sane elements of Bengali culture tradition and secular ethos.
By defying all danger of retribution with every chance of facing the music; the artists have fearlessly voiced that they would not budge and face the consequences even if viciously targeted by the troll brigade, not considered for awards in future or denied work for not subscribing to saffron ideology so as to remain clear to their conscience and having a peaceful sleep. No kudos is enough for these bravehearts for risking their all to challenge the forces hell bent on assaulting Bengal and the Idea of India. The least the Bengalis should do is to emulate them and resist these forces of disintegration and division by exercising their electoral franchise wisely. Indeed what a relief to see that at least all Bengalis have not sold their conscience, morality and humanity.
The video also ends with a valiant challenge to the “custodians of nationalism” letting them know that not only would all continue to live in this very country forming their motherland; the sane elements would think act speak by exercising own God-awarded intellect instead of getting brainwashed.
