The past year went with quite a relief from the ferocity of the pandemic. We were successful in controlling and defeating the virus to a great extent through fast vaccinations. Though surging cases in China have once again alerted the entire world, hopefully vaccinations would protect us and keep its spread under control. Almost every adult is now vaccinated with the second dose and many have even taken the booster jabs. Shaping back into our regular routines and general life we have started settling down after the roller coaster years of the decade. We are in the phase of rebounding and reviving businesses, academics and social life.
The year 2022 was marked with many ups and downs worldwide with war, political conflicts, inflation and issues of change in climate. In spite of all these, the year was still better than the past two gloomy years, for most of us. Economy reshaped and started recovering from the losses suffered. Schools reopened and children back into their regular routine studied hard to cover up for their hindered progress faced due to pandemic closures.
Economic recession, geopolitical tension, rising fear of coronavirus and high cost of living are still remaining as bothersome issues. Though 2022 was a permacrisis year, an extended period of instability with knock-on effects of the ongoing pandemic, we atleast got back to the rhythm of our normal life.
Navigating through many overlapping emergencies and shocks the tough time has taught us to be resilient and prepare for the future extremities and adversities in advance. We should stay optimistic and prepare for the worst. Wearing masks certainly slows the spread of viruses and so we should stick to this habit.
Life took a turn last year and things started looking better as the wrath of the virus abated and COVID-19 restrictions were pulled off. But it is not yet over and we need to be cautious.
We are back into our normal routines like before but in a modified manner with some changes acquired from the lockdown time. Many multinational companies are still continuing with the policy of work from home partly to some extent as the practice proved to be quite efficient. Many organisations have become flexible where people go to office as per requirement rather than following conventional office hours. Most of the work is now managed over the phone or done online rather than physical paperwork. So, we have permanently adopted some habits and practices from the last two years which we found to be advantageous and fruitful. Last year was refreshing in many ways and we enjoyed the liberation much comforted from the chaos and destruction of the virus. Hope the relief will continue. We are better equipped now to face such adversities than before. Technology and its usage has grown by leaps and bounds during this period. We can use the odds we have faced to build our future better. We all have found a new version of ourselves sailing through the ebb and flow of the tough time.
Past year went struggling and fighting through the uncertainties amid global polycrisis. With revitalized hopes we look ahead for a united peaceful progressive world ahead with optimism.
