Reading in the local newspaper on the attack between doctors has really sent shocks waves in the State about the lethargic attitude of those in charge in all Government departments. Little is done to improve the situation for providing the best service to the citizen of the State. You look at the Water department. Citizens are running from pillar to post to get regular drinking water supply; citizens are forced to purchase water through private tankers.
With frequent power cuts the public is now forced to purchase generators and invertors for their homes while the mining issue is allowed to be dragged by the government for not putting the guidelines in place as directed by the Supreme Court. The public is used by politicians to purposely create the present situation of insecurity and paint Goa Foundation black. Crores of money is collected by the mineral foundation to work for the upliftment of these mining affected people but surprising these people are not questioning the Government for this.
This led to Goa Foundation Supremo Claude Alvares locking the doors of the Mining Department. The same has repeated, the non-payment of bills, as reported, infuriated Dr Venkatesh to take such steps. Why is the Government playing in the lives of the people of Canacona who are known to be suffering due to kidney ailments? This area needs more and efficient emergency response. Instead of building new Government Hospital in the city areas built more hospitals in Canacona. The National Health mission has lots of funds, so is the ESI. Why don’t we channelise this for the people of Canacona?
Our Health Minister Mr Viswajit Rane is known for doing a good job in the Health Ministry, he should be credited for giving Goa the best health system but this incident will be a blot in his ministry. He should intervene in this matter and settle the bills of the poor doctor who is also undergoing a terrible family loss which might have led him into such situation. My appeal to you Mr Rane is to see that the people of Canacona do not suffer because of pending clearance of dues. Their precious life is at stake at whose negligence?
