I am writing to ask: “Who are these so called rights actives who call themselves as NGOs and animal lovers just for name?” Why do they make laws that they know will not only affect Maharashtra, but also Goa due to the ban from slaughtering or import or even export of beef. These people have destroyed meat by using phenyl even though these trucks had all the documents and licences to do so. They could easily have distributed the same to poor people around the border areas for their consumption who are starving rather than destroy, if after all you cannot bring a slaughtered animal back to life. This shows their dog in the manager attitude. I also want to know that if these so called NGOs and Lovers of Animals so care for these bovines, then why do we see so many of them roaming the lanes and highways and bye-lanes of Goa causing not only accidents that result in deaths and also maim a lot of people who are left crippled for life and some of whom are the only bread winners in the family and who will pay their medical costs. These bovines also cause traffic-jams. Why don’t these so call animal lovers and NGOs take charge of these animals, feed them at their own cost and look after them.
Many a times on the highway you will see dead bovines that are left to rot after being hit by a vehicle and so why don’t these so call animal lovers give them a decent burial.
Lastly, I would like to mention here that this ban on beef is a calculated move to target not only the Catholics but also the Muslim communities because it is the staple food of the former and a trade for the later who would be most affected displacing by rendering them jobs and leading to even more unemployment. The NGOs would rather save a bovine that they cannot look after, than save a human being who is displaced.
