The concept of formation of a regional party on the lines of a Third Front augurs well as the people of Goa have lost their trust in the ruling BJP which has been dividing the State by pursuing their anti-people communal agenda dictated by their high command at the Centre.
The concept of a Goa-centric regional party initiated by the disgruntled MLAs cutting across party lines is the need of the hour to save the State from the divisive evil and communal forces which is ruining the State at a fast clip. These sitting MLAs seeking a third front have raised red flags against both the national parties, Congress and BJP for their misdemeanors.
Given the state of flux and turmoil that Goa is presently witnessing with narrow minded and selfish politics overriding the interests of the State, the Aam Admi Party (AAP) would have been an ideal choice as a front runner in the 2017 assembly elections but for their poor showing in running the capital city of Delhi.
The AAP’s landslide victory which routed the BJP and decimated the Congress in the last assembly elections was mainly due to waning Modi-mania which mesmerized the nation in the Lok Sabha elections and saw the end of the Congress dynastic era. The AAP could not live up their reputation with frequent confrontation with the LG and Centre which resulted in maximum interference and minimum governance.
Back home in Goa there is a vertical north-south divide created by the BJP, with the south abhorring the non-compatible policies thrust upon them by the communal north political establishment. This ambiguity will result in the south demanding for equal representation of its 20 MLAs to manage its affairs given that Goa has a total strength of 40 MLAs in its demographic profile.
This equal representation will set to rest the disparity in the administration of formulation of policies by the north as the present measly 4 south-based MLAs do not raise their voices of dissent in the assembly to protect the interests of South Goa.
The conceptualized Third Front should have persons of high caliber, integrity and honesty and drawn from the intelligentsia with proven impeccable track record owing allegiance to protecting the interests of niz Goankars unlike the present dispensation of the ilk of Parsekars, Dhavalikars and Parulakars who are thrusting their non-Goan centric polices with the selfish motive of making quick money by fast tracking unwarranted projects, as they are aware that time is running out and they would be booted out of power at the next hustings.
