Existing in this world has a lot to do with thoughts; which are reaction of the past in combination with the present that brings about changes in a person’s life with ups and downs, joys and sorrows.
Our thoughts originate from friends who have close thought contact with us or they are also caused by our attractions and conclusions like that of Adolph Hitler who valued the superiority of the German race and sought power above everything else; and that importance created negative thoughts in him. His actions brought immeasurable destruction and death to millions, including a shameful end to his own life.
Optimistic people, in their mind, think of all possible positive angles regarding things that have gone wrong, for them. Pessimistic individuals invent imaginary negative situations. Unhappy people cannot make others happy; so they do not entertain thoughts to put others on cloud nine; they seek to satisfy their own selfish ends and do not care if their actions hurt others.
The effect of positive thoughts takes us to the height of success; and if maintained over a long time, it can produce positive health effect. If, we listen, to negative comments of others or our own negative self-talk in our mind, they grow like weeds and block all the beautiful, budding blossoms in life. We feel discouraged and never reach our goal. So, the effect of negative thought is failure, misery and sorrow which ultimately lead to disease. Regular weeding of negative thoughts helps us in our relationships; safeguards our emotional health, improves our understanding of different problem in a balanced and logical way. Therefore, it is necessary for us to give our mind positive directions.
We build our own destiny with the type of thoughts in our mind. People say that a certain person has changed due to this or that circumstance or incident. But the truth is, changes come from within and not because of any external happening. We see people under similar circumstances behave and respond differently because of differences in their thinking; one may making his life happy.
A drunkard father living in a single room with his two sons disturbed them at study time. The eldest son concentrated on his studies and was successful in life while his younger son, following to be a drunkard and was imprisoned for a petty crime. He blamed his father for creating a bad atmosphere at home while the eldest son got an award for excellence. The eldest son owed his success to his father for making him entertain thoughts in his mind to be different. Though the circumstances for both brothers were the same, their thoughts in the mind made them different.
Thoughts are like fire that can burn us to a ‘living death’, as well as cheer up our life and can, like a needle and thread, bring diverse people together. We are governed by what we think and how we think. Our actions are a result of our thought which makes even a docile man or woman commits a murder.
Many of us can be successful in life and our physical sickness could be avoided if we could only change our thoughts.
