The prime responsibility of any elected government is the responsibility in the safety and security of its people and their land. Every elected government since liberation miserably failed to protect Goa’s rich and natural beauty and isn’t this present government of Goa, a combination of Congress and BJP working overtime as an agent of the corporate to sell Goa for all?
Decent, peaceful, working class common citizens of this land have to work hard for their survival in this selfish world. They are forced to come on the roads to protest against the forced projects because of the total failure of these elected governments to protect the little beautiful remains of this land for our future generations. Sadly none of the 40 elected legislators could be trusted and they have proved their worth. They are badly cursed by the poor citizens of this land called Goa.
Goa, once known as the Rome of the East, is a beautiful land of beautiful people called Goemkars and our ugly politicians in power are all out to sell this land for the corporate against the wishes of people of this land. Hats off to the handful sons and daughters of this land who are putting up a strong fight against the rich and powerful corporate very well supported by the people in Power. Thousands of grown up trees will be chopped, forest areas will be destroyed, even few heritages houses of the locals will not be spared only to make way for the destruction in the name of development. Is it all about only Human convenience? The rest of the species has equal rights on this land as well. The forest belongs to the species of the forest and it’s not worth being cursed by the poor species of the forest. Is this so called development worth at the cost of “Dudhsagar”? Do we have right to speak about so called “Climatic change” when we ourselves are responsible for this change? Foolish people speak about planting trees when in reality the same people allow the chopping of grown up trees in thousands and we all have seen how the stupid people in power were watering the saplings during heavy rains thus confirming their height of foolishness.
The recent statement by the DGP, Mukesh Kumar Meena, warning the common people of this land of taking action against those obstructing the disastrous projects confirms how the Goa Police been used as remote controlled dolls by politicians in power. Is standing for the protection of our own land a crime? Protesters are protesting not because they have got nothing else to do but due to the total failure of so called the government of the people which in reality is totally opposite. How a government who is all out to falsely charge and frame its own people can be the government of the people?
This is the time of uncertainty. Tomorrow is unsure but sadly our bad deeds still continue today. Face masks and sanitisers might serve the purpose presently against COVID-19 but if our ugly deeds continues then these safety equipment will be of no use. It’s time to sanitize our hearts and minds and listen to the nature. If we don’t do this right now the Nature will destroy us all.
