To criticize the church is blasphemy

It is interesting to note the strange behavior of our politicians when they are defeated in the election. They will turn their ire on the Church. It is the right of our church leaders to guide and instruct their flock in times of need and crisis as much it is the right of the politicians to step at our door to beg for votes if not to ask with a deceitful smile at election time. Knowing too well that some of the emotive issues like the Ghar Wapsi, VHP convention in Goa, belittling the Nobel Prize laureate Mother Teresa and the recent gang rape on the seniormost nun in West Bengal are reasons why the Catholic community and some secular minded citizens voted against the BJP and its alliance. It is ridiculous on the part of Mickky to attribute Zilla Panchayat results to the church leaders, nay blasphemous to criticize the church for no reason. To rape a nun is Catholic culture, stated at a discussion panel, is the last straw we should take on our back and write off the BJP for good not even to think of it in the 2017 Assembly elections.
At a time when the Congress wasn’t doing well but being self-centric in promoting family raj, it became pertinent to opt for a change. The Bharatiya Janata Party was given a full mandate reposing our faith for good governance. But it has backfired on us. Instead, some fringe elements have become active in attacking the Christian minority ever since the BJP came to power at the centre. The concept of making this country a Hindu rashtra and living by one religion in itself is derogatory, denying every citizen the right to live by freedom of choice enshrined to practice religion according to one’s conscience. Prime Minister Narendra Modi however remains lukewarm to react in strong terms against what is happening in the country and its prestige being lowered tainting the image of India as being intolerant to religions.
We stand by our shepherd and look upon the Church in the near future to instruct and guide us that we derive not only spiritual benefits but also remain united in political crises.
